Tragic Turn: Bar Explosion in Spanish Town Claims Two Lives, Including Moroccan Manager

Two women, including a Moroccan, victims of the violent explosion that occurred on June 19 last in a bar in San Pedro de Pinatar (Murcia) and which had left 17 injured, succumbed to their injuries at the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital where they had been admitted since the day of the incident.
The two women remained hospitalized until their death. One of them, a 38-year-old Moroccan and manager of the bar, was inside the establishment when the explosion occurred, according to Libertad Digital. Suffering from serious burns, she had been admitted to the burns unit to receive appropriate care.
The other victim, aged 56 and of Spanish nationality, was a passer-by who was visiting the market in the street at the time of the explosion. Seriously injured in the head, she had to undergo surgery for a head trauma.
A third person seriously injured was also admitted to the Santa Lucía hospital in Cartagena and is gradually recovering. The other victims suffering from minor injuries were taken care of by the emergency services and returned to their homes.
The explosion occurred on Thursday, June 19 around 12:30 pm, while the "Casa Javi" bar was still closed and a market was bustling in the street. In addition to the injured, the fire also caused significant material damage. An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the explosion.
