Tragic Shooting at Midelt Wedding Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

A nightmarish wedding in Timdghas, in the province of Midelt. Gunshots fired in the air by a member of the bride’s family to announce her arrival caused the death of a guest and injured two others.
"The youngest of the bride’s family fired several shots in the air with a hunting rifle to celebrate the arrival of the latter, killing on the spot a man and injuring two other people," reports the daily Assabah, specifying that "the bride’s brother, still a minor, would have taken his father’s hunting rifle without his knowledge to pull the trigger".
Three people, all close to the bride’s family, were hit. One died on the spot. His body was taken to the morgue. As for the other two, injured, they were urgently transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary care.
Alerted, the local authorities and the security services of the province rushed to the scene of the wedding ceremony that turned into a tragedy. The minor and his father were arrested and taken into custody on Sunday. They will be brought before the competent prosecutor’s office in Khénifra on Tuesday.
