Tragic Plunge: Moroccan Family’s Spanish Highway Horror Leaves One Dead, Four Critical

A 50-year-old Moroccan man lost his life and four other members of his family, a 31-year-old woman and three minors, were seriously injured in a road accident that occurred on Tuesday, August 26 in Beleña, in the province of Salamanca. The vehicle they were traveling in fell several meters from the A-66 motorway.
The alert was given at 8:26 am to the 112 Emergency Center of Castilla y León. For a reason yet to be determined, the passenger car left the lane of traffic and fell from an estimated height of between six and seven meters, landing on the N-630 national road that runs below, at kilometer point 363.
Five people were on board the vehicle: the driver, a 50-year-old Moroccan man who died on the spot, as well as a woman and three children, two boys aged 5 and 10 and a 13-year-old girl. The four survivors were transferred to the University Hospital Complex of Salamanca. According to the emergency services, the woman and two of the children are in critical condition.
A large rescue operation was mobilized, including Civil Guard agents, firefighters from the Salamanca Provincial Council and numerous units from the health emergency service (Sacyl). A medicalized helicopter, five ambulances, two mobile intensive care units (UVI) and a local medical team were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
