Tragic End for Young Couple in Morocco: Double Suicide After Families Oppose Marriage

Their families having opposed their union, a young couple put an end to their suffering, last weekend, by hanging themselves from a tree, in the commune of Jbel Lhabib in Tétouan.
Failing a union in life, the two lovers decided to unite in death, reports the site Rue20, which specifies that the girl’s family had refused the marriage.
The bodies of the two victims were found by the villagers, at the end of the week, hanging from the branches of a tree. The young man was 18 years old, reports the site.
The bruises and traces of rope around their necks, revealed by the autopsy results, made it possible to rule out any possibility of a criminal act. An investigation has been opened by the services of the royal gendarmerie, under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the details of the tragedy.
