Moroccan Woman Dies by Suicide to Escape Forced Marriage, Authorities Investigate

4 days before the wedding ceremony was to be held, the young girl was found hanged to a tree in a village near Rich.

The victim’s body was discovered by chance by a family member, just a few meters from the family home. According to Alyaoum24, the young girl wanted to escape an arranged marriage imposed by her family.

An investigation has been opened by the royal gendarmerie brigade, under the supervision of the Attorney General’s Office, while the remains have been transferred to the morgue for an autopsy.
