Tragic Elevator Accident Claims Life of 60-Year-Old Man in Casablanca

Sad end on April 1st of a 60-year-old man, who died after the free fall of an old elevator in one of the buildings on Mohammed V Avenue, in the historic city center of Casablanca.
The tragedy occurred when the deceased was trying to pull the thick cables of the elevator, which had been out of service for about thirty years. The man was earning his daily bread by selling scrap cables. His relatives confirmed his identity when they went to the scene.
The local authorities and civil protection elements quickly went to the scene to recover the body and secure the perimeter of the building.
