Tragic Accident: 11-Year-Old Dies in Open Sewer Canal in Kénitra, Morocco

A tragic accident has plunged the city of Kénitra into mourning. An 11-year-old child lost his life after falling into an open sewer canal during maintenance work carried out by a company.
The incident occurred in the Maghrib arabi neighborhood, near a well-known store. The victim, who was playing with other children, would have had no chance against the sudden fall into the unsecured canal.
The news of this tragedy immediately triggered a wave of anger and indignation on social media. Some have denounced the lack of basic safety conditions at the construction site, pointing the finger at the negligence of the maintenance company and the municipal authorities.
"It is unacceptable that such a tragedy can occur in broad daylight, in a neighborhood frequented by children," fumed an Internet user. "There was no signage, no protection around the canal. This is a real scandal," wrote another.
