Tragic Accident Claims Lives of 6-Year-Old Student and Staff Member from Mantes-la-Jolie School

The bilingual school Eva de Vitray, located in the Val-Fourré district of Mantes-la-Jolie, is in mourning. A 6-year-old student and a school official lost their lives in a road accident.
The accident, which cost the lives of these two people, occurred in the Eure department while the 6-year-old student, as well as his brothers, were being driven to school. The two other schoolchildren, aged 10 and 13, were seriously injured.
A psychological support unit has been set up to try to help the staff, as well as the students, all in shock from this unprecedented tragedy. The Deputy Academic Director of National Education and the National Education Inspector visited the Eva de Vitray school to provide support to the students and the educational community. The Listening Unit of the academy intervened with the children and the teaching staff, reports Le Parisien.
"Our most sincere thoughts go to the bereaved families, our prayers accompany the deceased and we wish a speedy recovery to the hospitalized children," the Eva de Vitray school said in a statement, before thanking "the many people who have expressed their deep emotion to the school group".
