French Students Renovate Moroccan Schools in Ongoing Humanitarian Project

There are 30 of them, these professional high school students from Grande-Synthe and Guynemer, who are busy renovating school buildings in Morocco. Four years ago, their classmates had started this endeavor.
The former and new students are delighted to have participated in this humanitarian project. "When I came back, I really wanted to relive this kind of experience and go abroad again," enthuses Théo Engrand, a 23-year-old apprentice roofer. He had had his experience in 2019. With other students and apprentices from the Guynemer high school in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer, he had participated in the renovation of the roof of a school in Mzefroune.
This establishment has been carrying out this project for four years. The objective pursued is the renovation of the dormitory of a high school and a school. "It is an honor to be part of such an experience. Not everyone has the chance to do it," exults with joy Fabiola Thayals, a student in the professional baccalaureate program for furniture design technician.
The 17-year-old teenager and her classmates will prefabricate furniture, mainly bunk beds, and then assemble them on site, reports La Voix du Nord. According to the same source, the task of the students and teachers of the professional high school of automobile and transport of Grande Synthe, is to help them transport the renovation material, as is the case every year.
In June 2020, the project will come to an end. The two high schools in the Dunkirk area are already announcing other projects. "There will be other international projects. We are solicited by many cities in Morocco or even in Togo," said Jean-Marc Sailly, principal of the Guynemer vocational high school.
