Tragedy in Morocco: Mother Discovers Children Dead, Takes Own Life in Tetouan

The events took place in Helhala, under the rural commune of El Hamra in the province of Tetouan. The mother of the three minors found the lifeless bodies of the latter at the family home, on her return from the weekly market in Bni Hassan, according to security sources to Le360.

Apparently lost after finding the death of her three children, the eldest of whom would be around 7 years old, the woman is said to have taken her own life by hanging herself to a tree not far from the house. The Royal Gendarmerie, in collaboration with the scientific and technical police, has opened an investigation to shed light on this tragedy that has saddened the inhabitants of the region.

According to some residents, gas poisoning would be the cause of the death of the three children. For now, the investigators are not ruling out any leads. The bodies of the three children, as well as that of their mother, were transferred to the Tetouan morgue for the purposes of the autopsy, which will determine the exact cause of death.
