UK Tightens Airport Security for Easter Travel to Morocco and Other Countries

The British low-cost airline Easyjet informs its customers bound for Morocco and other countries such as Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia and Jordan that, with the approach of the Easter period and its traditional flows of travelers, reinforced security arrangements now frame air links to the United Kingdom.
The United Kingdom is tightening controls at its airports. EasyJet is urging its customers to "carefully check the validity of their passport" before departure, in order to avoid any delays or refusals at border crossing points. In a statement, the company specified that additional formalities could be required depending on the consular status or profile of the traveler.
Holders of ordinary British passports are exempt from visas for tourist stays of less than 90 days in Morocco, but certain categories of nationals - such as holders of British Overseas Citizen, British National (Overseas) or British Protected Person titles - must absolutely contact the Moroccan Consulate General to ensure the conditions of entry in force, Easyjet recalls.
A standard visa remains required for certain specific purposes such as business or academic travel. According to the company, the precious visa will have to be applied for with the relevant diplomatic representations. In addition, it recommends that its passengers carefully consult the notices issued by the British diplomatic services as well as the consular representations of the countries concerned.
