Teens Arrested for Brutal Laundromat Attack on North African Man in Essonne

Two teenagers were arrested and referred on Wednesday as alleged perpetrators of the violent assault of a 50-year-old man of Maghrebi origin in a laundromat in Évry-Courcouronnes (Essonne) last October.
In a video posted on Twitter at the end of October and quickly gone viral, we could see the man being violently assaulted in a laundromat in the Épinettes neighborhood of Évry-Courcouronnes (Essonne). The two arrested teenagers, two brothers aged 15 and 16, were arrested on Wednesday in the same neighborhood and referred to a juvenile judge in the city’s court, reports Le Parisien.
The facts would have taken place in the winter of 2021-2022 at the "Speed Queen" laundromat, according to a source close to the case. A first aggressor had punched the victim, to the laughter of the others who filmed the scene with their phones, before a second rushed at the man to beat him. The victim had not filed a complaint, nor called the fire department or the police.
After the publication of the video of the assault in October, the Évry-Courcouronnes prosecutor’s office opened an investigation for "aggravated violence" led by the city’s police station. By watching the video, the investigators finally found the victim, a 50-year-ol
