Seven Arrested in Barcelona for Fatal Nightclub Stabbing of Moroccan Man

The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested on Tuesday seven people of Dominican nationality as alleged perpetrators of the fatal knife attack suffered in October by a young man of Moroccan origin on Avenida del Paralelo in Barcelona.
The seven young people, including two minors, were arrested in Horta, Sant Andreu, Nou Barris and Sant Martí. The events took place on October 30, when several customers of the Brisas nightclub engaged in a brawl in which two young Moroccans were seriously assaulted with knives. One of them eventually died on the sidewalk and the other was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, recalls Sport.es.
In the video of the scene, recorded by some customers of the nightclub, the victim who ended up succumbing to his injuries is seen still alive and lying on his back on the sidewalk, breathing with great difficulty. The Moroccan was surrounded by several witnesses, some of whom warned that he was going to die. A few minutes later, the young man dies, in front of their eyes, without any of them having called for help or come to his aid.
The day after the murder, the Mossos arrested a 19-year-old man for his alleged involvement in these acts. At the time, the investigators did not have enough elements to determine his degree of involvement in the case. After four months of investigation, the seven other alleged perpetrators of this crime were arrested on Tuesday. The investigation continues to determine the causes of this fatal assault.
According to the initial results of the investigation, the two victims had tried to attack one of the club’s customers, which led to the violent reaction of several of the latter’s relatives. Investigators do not believe that the accused are members of a criminal network. The Brisas nightclub, which has regularly been the scene of violent clashes and two homicides, in February 2018 and October 2022, will be demolished by the Barcelona City Council.
