Teen Dies After Stabbing in Chambéry Street Brawl, Suspects at Large

Found unconscious with a stab wound in the back on Sunday evening in Chambéry (Savoie), an 18-year-old Moroccan died shortly after being admitted to the hospital. This death occurred following a brawl, according to the municipality.
According to the police, the young Moroccan was in an irregular situation on French territory, reports Europe1. He was found unconscious around 9 p.m. with a stab wound in the back and died shortly after arriving at the hospital, the same source specifies, adding that the deceased was known to the justice services. The police have not yet managed to arrest the perpetrators.
The death occurred following "a brawl [...] between several individuals," the municipality estimates. "Such violence is unacceptable and intolerable," reacted Mayor Thierry Repentin in a press release. He will add: "All the resources of the State, through the competent services of the National Police, are being deployed as part of this investigation. We must trust the judicial work to shed light on the circumstances of this tragedy."
The motive for the homicide is, for the moment, unknown. "Without information at this stage on the motive for the homicide, I call on everyone to the greatest restraint, including on social networks," concludes the mayor.
