Teen Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Moroccan Man in Barcelona’s Sant Andreu District

The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested on Sunday a 19-year-old Dominican as the alleged perpetrator of the fatal assault on Souleymane, a 20-year-old Moroccan.
Agents were alerted on November 28 that a fight had broken out at Plaza Can Fabra in the Sant Andreu neighborhood of Barcelona. Arriving on the scene, they found Souleymane lying on the ground, seriously injured in the chest with a bladed weapon. Rushed to the hospital, he did not survive, reports NIUS.
The young man was buried in Morocco. His relatives who remained in Barcelona followed the burial ceremony by video on their mobile phones. "It was very hard. That night, his mother had an anxiety attack," confides a member of Souleymane’s family who requested anonymity.

The arrest of the alleged perpetrator of this crime was a "relief" for the family, he assures, demanding justice for Souleymane’s death and asking the authorities to take measures to prevent such attacks from happening again. "The young man’s death could have been avoided," he laments.
An investigation has been opened since November 28 to elucidate this murder. According to police sources, the victim and the assailants did not know each other and the act was not premeditated. Nor is it a settling of scores between drug trafficking networks, the same sources confirm. The investigation is ongoing and could lead to new arrests.
