Teacher Assaulted by Parents Over Low Grade in Morocco, Calls for Action
Accused of having given a bad grade to a student, a teacher was beaten by the parents right near the school. Today, she is calling on the authorities to assist her.
The facts date back to last Monday in Tétouan, as explained by this Islamic education teacher to a local website (see video at the end of the article). The student received a grade of 2 out of 20 and her parents were also summoned by the management of the "6 November" school because of the behavior of their daughter within the college and in class.
But instead of going to the principal’s office, they waited for the teacher to leave to attack her. The two parents unleashed themselves on her with punches to the face, head and arm. She owes her salvation only to the intervention of some students who were on the spot.
The teacher was taken unconscious to the Saniat Rmel hospital in Tétouan where she could be taken care of by the doctors. Back home since, she is asking for the protection of the police and the officials of the Ministry of National Education so that such a situation does not happen again.
In the meantime, the police have opened an investigation and the parents of the young girl have been arrested and placed in custody.
