Taxi Driver Arrested in Rabat After Theft and Accident Injures Six

A man, at the wheel of a taxi, was arrested on Sunday by the judicial police of the Yaacoub Al Mansour district under the Rabat police prefecture, after causing a traffic accident, injuring several people. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the accident.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the suspect is involved in the theft of a handbag and other personal effects belonging to a woman he had transported. He caused the accident while trying to flee, injuring six people who were sitting on the terrace of a cafe.
Investigators found three bladed weapons in the taxi, probably used for criminal purposes. The six injured people were taken to the hospital to receive the necessary care. As for the accused, he was placed in custody, pending the conclusions of the judicial investigation.
