Taxi Driver Arrested in Agadir for Alleged Scam Targeting British Tourists

In Agadir, police arrested a taxi driver who attempted to scam two British tourists.
It all started with a heated argument between a taxi driver and two passengers over the fare. The passengers are British tourists. In a video posted on social media, one of them shouts: "We’re going to tell the police that you’re stealing from us". The other insists that he received more than he should have. The taxi driver had indeed claimed not to have received the full amount due for the ride after hiding a 200 dirham bill under his vehicle.
A deception that failed. One of the two passengers discovers the hidden bill under the car and films it. Embarrassed, the driver jumps into his car and flees. After the incident, the two tourists filed a complaint against him. The taxi driver was later arrested by the police. An investigation for suspected "fraud and breach of trust" was then opened.
