Tariq Ramadan Faces Court Over Rape Allegations from Mounia Rabbouj

Indicted for the rape of 5 women in total, Tariq Ramadan returned to the stand on Tuesday. This time, it is to answer one of his very first rape accusations, brought by Mounia Rabbouj.
Mounia Rabbouj, 47, filed a complaint with the Paris Judicial Court against the 58-year-old Swiss Islamologist in March 2018. She accuses him of raping her nine times in France, London and Brussels, from 2013 to 2014.
"There is no new element, it is a purely formal indictment in order to be able to organize the confrontation soon," had declared, at the end of his interrogation, three of his five lawyers, who had accompanied him to the court.
While he had denied having had extramarital affairs, the Swiss Islamologist had been caught out when Mounia Rabbouj exhibited a dress that presented DNA evidence of intimate relations between her and Tariq Ramadan. If the latter denounced consented relations with most of his accusers, for her, he considers himself the victim of a trap, the revenge of a former mistress, a former escort girl.
