Tangier man forges marriage certificate hotel stay cousin prison

Prosecuted for forging an official document and its use, the individual was placed in custody by the King’s prosecutor general at the Tangier court of appeal. During hearings, the defendant defended himself by claiming that "the complainant and her father were aware of the nature of this document." He insisted that this maneuver was solely intended to facilitate access to hotel rooms.

This version was firmly contested by the main interested party. It was indeed the cousin herself who initiated legal proceedings by filing a complaint against her partner. Before the judges, she categorically denied any complicity, asserting that she was completely unaware that the document presented to tourist establishment receptions was a forgery.
