Tangier Cracks Down on Powerful Real Estate Developers for Building Violations

In Tangier, an inspection revealed serious violations on ongoing projects and construction sites led by major real estate developers in several neighborhoods of the city.
One of the major real estate developers involved in the observed violations maintains close ties with a number of political figures in the city, namely elected officials holding positions of responsibility in elected councils, report sources to Hespress. In a statement to the same media, one of the district presidents of this city of one million inhabitants regarding this matter, confirmed that sustained activity is ongoing in the urban planning sector, in terms of control and inspection of multiple violations recorded on a number of projects.
This inspection is synonymous with a clear "warning message" from wali Younes Tazi to the real estate magnates in the city, especially those who have been accustomed to circumventing the law and plans for many years. It also represents an indirect message to some elected officials and municipal council officials, who "defended certain urban planning files on behalf of real estate developers and well-known names in the building sector of the Strait city, with several services and administrations. These elected officials manage to find "arrangements and solutions for them in the face of problems and challenges in which they have found themselves involved due to various violations," specify the same sources.
After the inspection, reports were drawn up. Sanctions could be imposed.
