Tangier Commuters Swelter as Bus Air Conditioning Fails Amid Heat Wave

In Tangier, the transport company Alsa is under fire for a number of malfunctions.
"The buses of the urban transport company Alsa in Tangier have become mobile saunas due to air conditioning breakdowns or non-functioning in the middle of summer," denounces a municipal council advisor. According to him, the provision of air conditioning services is stipulated in the specifications with the company whose contract has expired. The elected official deplores the fact that the contract has been extended for a transitional period "without us being informed of the conditions of this extension".
The official also criticizes "the absence of the monitoring and control commission chaired by the mayor of the city". "We have all talked a lot as elected officials about the preparations for the summer since May, and the need to provide appropriate services for this period," he added. According to the elected official, the malfunctions observed had already been raised without any action being taken. This is causing suffering for users, especially in the summer period.
