Tangier Activist Gets 15 Years for Rape of 12-Year-Old Girl

An activist from Tangier was sentenced to 15 years in prison for having diverted and raped a minor. This is the verdict handed down by the court of appeal of the city, on Tuesday.
This taxi driver by profession was actively involved in an association in Tangier when he met the minor three years ago. At the time, the teenager was 12 years old. Since the outbreak of the case in December 2019, the investigators have worked tirelessly to solve it.
The mother of the minor told the investigators that the accused was harassing her child, sending her sexually explicit messages and asking her to send him nude photos of herself in return, reports Le360. He had also asked her to meet him at his home.
The prosecution stated that the minor was sexually abused several times in the absence of the defendant’s wife. The doctor who examined the victim said she had lost her virginity, the same source said.
Prosecuted for "diversion" and "rape" of a minor, the activist was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
