Tanger-Med Port Scandal: Police Officers Arrested in 4.5-Ton Cannabis Smuggling Operation

Two police officers and three employees of the FRS transport company have been indicted for complicity in the export of cannabis by an organized gang. The investigation is being conducted by the narcotics brigade in Tanger.
The case broke out on August 12, reports Tanjanews, when a shipment of 4.5 tons of chira, from the port of Tanger-Med, was intercepted by the Spanish Guardia Civil elements in Algeciras.
The investigation, conducted by the narcotics brigade in Tanger, revealed that 2 police officers, operating at the port level, as well as 3 agents of the transport company FRS, actively participated in this drug trafficking operation.
The 5 individuals, suspected of belonging to an international drug trafficking network, have been remanded in custody at the Tanger prison, pending the completion of the investigation.
