Swedish Woman Arrested in Morocco for Alleged Child Abduction and Document Fraud

Under an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol, a 31-year-old Swedish woman was arrested on Saturday, June 10 in Marrakech. According to the authorities, she would be involved in a kidnapping case and the falsification of official documents.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the young woman would have falsified her husband’s signature to produce false documents, thus allowing her to kidnap their minor son who was under shared custody. This is what led the International Criminal Police Organization to issue a red notice against her.
The suspect was placed in pre-trial detention pending her appearance before the courts. The Interpol office of the DGSN, based in Rabat, was tasked with informing its Swedish counterparts of the arrest. According to the procedures in force, an extradition to her country of origin is now under consideration.
