Suspect in Fatal Stabbing of Teen Hero Surrenders After 20-Day Manhunt

The alleged murderer of Mohammed, a young man from Dionysien killed on June 5th for intervening in a fight between young people from the Stalingrad housing project, has been arrested.

The heroic act of the 18-year-old boy, an innocent victim of the fight between two brothers and a group of young people, cost him his life.

Actively sought after, the two suspects decided to surrender as the pressure had become stronger after a series of searches carried out last week, reports Le Parisien. One of the brothers, aged 31, the alleged murderer, surrendered on Sunday at the premises of the judicial police in Bobigny after 20 days on the run.

According to the Bobigny prosecutor’s office, the alleged perpetrator of the homicide was indicted on Wednesday for "murder and attempted murder" and placed in pre-trial detention.

It all started with Mohammed’s intervention in a fight between the two brothers and a group of young people from Saint-Denis. Determined to make them see reason, Mohamed did not succeed. Seeing the situation deteriorate, he swept the brother who was carrying the gun. Unfortunately, the defendant had already pulled the trigger, firing three shots. The fatal bullet hit the victim in the chest, while other projectiles injured another 17-year-old boy in the flank. Luckier than Mohamed, he survived his injuries.
