Teen in Coma After Violent Assault Over Borrowed ATV Dispute

Faouzi, 19, is between life and death in Beaujon (Hauts-de-Seine), after a young man of his age struck him on the head with a construction stapler, on Sunday, May 17, in Bezons (Val-d’Oise), near his home. The origin of this assault is a trivial quad story.
"He was assaulted by a young man from the neighborhood who hit him on the head with a construction stapler," explains the family’s lawyer, Myriam Bouaffassa. According to the facts, the alleged aggressor would have lent his vehicle to Faouzi, reports Le Parisien. The latter took a tour around the neighborhood with it. On his return, a violent argument broke out. And for good reason, the young owner of the quad noticed scratches on the vehicle.
"The other one reproached him for it. A dispute followed," the lawyer recounts. Things will go very quickly. The young man would have withdrawn, then returned a few moments later with his father, armed with a construction stapler. As Faouzi was fleeing, he would have received a blow to the head. He was immediately admitted to Beaujon Hospital in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine). The doctors’ verdict is in: the young man is suffering from a head injury and cerebral hemorrhage. "The prognosis is still engaged," says Myriam Bouaffassa.
Subsequently, the police arrested the father of the alleged aggressor. His son himself reported to the police station and was placed in pre-trial detention. On Thursday, a judicial investigation for attempted murder was opened. The Argenteuil police station is in charge of the investigation. The two suspects were indicted on Friday. The father of the aggressor will appear at liberty.
Faouzi’s family is constituting itself as a civil party. "We are dealing with a totally gratuitous assault, a priori, but it will be up to the investigation to confirm it. We have confidence in justice," declares Myriam Bouaffassa.
