Survey: 83% of Spaniards Blame Morocco for Surge in Mediterranean Migration

Morocco is on trial regarding illegal immigration to [Spain]. 83.1% of Spaniards blame it for having favored the waves of illegal immigration in the Mediterranean.
In a survey conducted by SocioMétrica for the online site El Español, only 5.7% of respondents say that Morocco collaborates with Spain in a friendly manner. They believe that, unlike other border countries, Morocco is the only one that has not better controlled its borders with Europe.
Morocco sees migrants embarking on its coasts almost daily en route to Europe via Spain. However, the departures from the Moroccan coasts worry the Spanish, who compare Morocco to Turkey, Libya and Algeria, which have blocked or better controlled their borders with Europe.
This increase in migrants at the gates of Spain has led to a tour of some ministers in Morocco and Senegal. The objective is to curb the migratory wave. They have all invited young people to use legal channels to travel to Europe. For González Laya, the Spanish Minister of the Interior, Spain is reopening its doors to Senegalese who wish to migrate to Spain in a legal and orderly manner.
