Survey: 75% of Moroccans Report Lifestyle Changes Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

The Covid-19 crisis has strongly disrupted the behavior of populations around the world, according to a survey. The vast majority of Moroccans said the pandemic has changed them.
Conducted by the international consulting agency MARCO, the survey looked at the impacts of the health crisis on people’s daily lives, particularly their sources of information and their choice of consumer products. The study was carried out during the months of May and June last year and involved 14,200 people in 14 countries. In Morocco, 75% of the people surveyed said that due to the health crisis, they have changed their habits.
In detail, the agency indicated that Moroccans have radically changed their sources of information over the months. According to the results, the social network Facebook is the main source of information for Moroccans with 53%, followed by Whatsapp (51%) and Instagram (46%), even though they consider television to provide the most reliable information (68%).
Regarding consumption habits, the survey reveals that Moroccans are becoming more demanding towards brands and companies. Henceforth, specify the investigators, the environment, sustainability, the well-being of employees or even the values in terms of diversity are among the criteria of choice of the Moroccan consumer, among others.
In this sense, 84% of Moroccans responded that they prefer a brand or company that treats its employees properly. Among the category that attaches importance to this aspect are women. They are 89% to consider this aspect as very important (68%) or important (21%). Furthermore, 91% of Moroccans consider it very important (67%) or important (24%) for a brand or company to respect the environment. Here again, women are more numerous than men to consider the issue very important (76%) in their eyes, the survey specifies.
