Survey: Moroccan Trust in Government Surges, Reaching 69% Approval

In Morocco, indicators of trust in institutions have all shown an increase. 69% of Moroccans say they have confidence in the government and 52% of them say they are in line with the political action as a whole.
Two out of three Moroccans say they have confidence in the government, compared to 23% in 2020, and one in two citizens now has confidence in political parties, compared to 22% two years ago, according to the results of a public survey conducted by the Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis (MIPA).
This confidence rating in the executive is driven by the alternation in the management of public affairs expressed by the majority of Moroccans in the last elections, but also by the effective management of the crisis related to the coronavirus pandemic, the study pointed out.
Regarding political parties, the increase in the confidence rate is explained by the total absence of populist discourse after the September 8 election. And this both for political parties and at the level of the government and within the legislative institution. This probably explains the way in which the latter is now perceived. Thus, for the institution of Parliament, the degree of confidence of citizens has gone from 22% in 2020 to 50% currently.
