Suicide Crisis Grips Medical Community in Oujda, Morocco

The specter of suicide has taken hold of the medical community in Oujda, on Wednesday, October 23. In one day, two sad events occurred in the capital of the Oriental, with a suicide and a narrowly averted suicide attempt.
A 26-year-old anesthesia nurse, working at the University Hospital Center of Oujda, took his own life under mysterious circumstances, choosing to inject himself with an anesthetic product at his home.
On the same day, the general practitioner of an urban health center in Oujda attempted to end his life by ingesting an excessive amount of medication. According to Agadir24, the doctor was able to be saved at the last minute, thanks to the rapid intervention of the emergency services of the CHU.
The site adds that the man, who had joined the city of Oujda after practicing for a long time in a rural environment, was undergoing strong psychological pressure, the origin of which has not been determined.
