Strong Winds Halt Ferry Service Between Spain and Morocco in Strait of Gibraltar

The port authority of the Bay of Algeciras announced on Tuesday the suspension of maritime traffic between the port of Tarifa (Spain) and that of Tanger ville until further notice. The strong winds blowing in the Strait of Gibraltar are the reason for this decision.
The scheduled departures at least during the day of this Tuesday, July 12 are canceled, specified the port authority of the Bay of Algeciras. Passengers affected by these cancellations will have to go to the ports of Algeciras (Spanish side) and Tanger Med (Moroccan side) to make the crossing.
Confirming this information, sources from the Tanger Ville port authority specified that the decision to suspend traffic is justified by the winds blowing at more than 80 km/h on Tuesday morning in the Strait of Gibraltar, reports Le360.
The Moroccan port authorities also inform that traffic between the ports of Tarifa and Tanger ville will be restored as soon as weather conditions permit.
