Strasbourg-Marrakech: EasyJet's new route already fully booked

EasyJet inaugurated on Sunday a new air route between Strasbourg-Entzheim and Marrakech Ménara airports. This direct flight, offered twice a week, facilitates travel and avoids tedious connections for Alsatian travelers.

Alsatians wishing to travel to Morocco no longer need to make complicated detours. Until now, they were often forced to go through nearby airports such as Basel or Baden-Baden, or to make stopovers. EasyJet now offers direct flights every Thursday and Sunday.

The inauguration of the route was marked by immediate success. An Airbus 319 with a capacity of 157 seats completed the inaugural flight, fully booked on both outbound and return journeys. Gilles Tellier, president of Strasbourg Airport, expressed his satisfaction with this successful launch, which illustrates the infrastructure’s commitment to diversifying its activities by partnering with various airlines.

This connection is also welcomed on the diplomatic front. Soumia Bouhamidi, consul general of Morocco in Strasbourg, sees it as "a new gateway to greater cooperation, opportunities and mobility" between France and Morocco. She emphasizes that this offering meets the expectations of a significant Moroccan community established in the eastern part of the country.
