EasyJet’s African Expansion: Marrakech Hub Launches New European Routes
The low-cost airline easyJet is strengthening its presence in Morocco. The British operator announced this Wednesday a major development plan that will result in the installation of its very first base on the African continent and the launch of several flights.
This new base, the company’s first in Africa, will be located in Marrakech and will have three aircraft. The first flights operated from this hub are scheduled for the spring of 2026.
This deployment will concretely result in the launch of four new routes to Europe. Three of them will connect Marrakech to Hamburg, Lille and Strasbourg, while a fourth will connect Tangier to Geneva.
The route between Strasbourg and Marrakech will be operated from May 3, 2026, with a frequency of two flights per week, on Thursdays and Sundays. The group’s tour operator, easyJet holidays, will also offer all-inclusive stays on this destination.
The arrival of easyJet on this route will strengthen an already significant offer from Strasbourg airport to Morocco. Strasbourg airport is already served by several airlines such as Volotea, Ryanair or Royal Air Maroc, which offer flights to destinations such as Agadir, Casablanca, Fez or Oujda.
