Stranded Motorhome Tourists Face Crisis at Closed Morocco-Spain Border

Hundreds of motorhome tourists have been blocked since Sunday at the gates of Ceuta. The reason is the closure of the borders between Morocco and Spain.
They are mostly French, Swiss and Belgian, these stranded motorhome tourists in Ceuta. The reopening of the borders remains their only hope to be able to return home.
These desperate motorhome tourists are lacking everything: no water, no electricity, and the shops are closed. Added to this are the precarious sanitary conditions. The coolness in this region of Morocco complicates things for these motorhome tourists who say they do not understand why this border has been closed, which in their eyes presents no risk, if they travel confined in the motorhomes to their destination.
140 special flights have been authorized for the repatriation of French travelers stranded in Marrakech, Casablanca and Tangier, while no ferry leaves the kingdom. A growing gathering is observed with deteriorating hygiene conditions day by day at the Ceuta border.
The fight against the spread of coronavirus is causing collateral damage, but according to the Moroccan authorities, it is the price to pay for the health safety of everyone.
