Stellantis to Invest €300 Million, Boost Car Production in Morocco to 450,000 Units Annually

In the coming years, the "Stellantis" group intends to mobilize its resources to improve the production of cars at its plant in Kenitra. 300 million euros will be mobilized to produce 450,000 vehicles.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by Carlos Tavares, CEO of the "Stellantis" group, during a meeting with the Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch. A meeting during which the official praised the government’s efforts to simplify investment procedures, welcoming the attractiveness of investments in the Kingdom in the field of automotive manufacturing and the attention given to this sector in Morocco.
Speaking on the occasion, Aziz Akhannouch recalled the many measures taken in this direction, in particular the promulgation of the new investment charter. The Prime Minister congratulated the "Stellantis" group for its investments in Morocco, despite the context of crisis, specifying that the doubling of the production capacity of the Kenitra site will contribute to the creation of 2,000 new jobs, in line with the government program’s guidelines on promoting employment.
The Head of Government also welcomed the contribution of Moroccan executives to the development of the electric automotive industry at the Kenitra plant (Citroën AMI and Opel rocks-e), emphasizing the contribution of a group of Moroccan engineers and technicians to the design and manufacture of these cars.
