Standard Liège Star Mehdi Carcela Rejects Lucrative Qatar Offer, Commits to Belgian Club

Mehdi Carcela has no intention of being part of the squad of the Al-Sailiya SC club based in Doha. The Atlas Lion has refused the offer from the Qatari club, preferring to continue his adventure at Standard Liège.
"Standard is my club, I don’t want to leave." These are the words Mehdi Carcela used to express his probable departure. The financial offer of 2.5 million euros, which was proposed to him by the club of Al-Sailiya SC, did not receive his agreement. He and the leaders of his club are simply not giving in.
Even the other Gulf clubs, namely Al Arabi and Al Ahli, who wanted to enlist him, were met with his categorical refusal. The Atlas Lion is rather focused on his performances at Standard Liège with which he is writing the new pages of his football career.
In another register, Mehdi Carcela, absent from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), was selected by Vahid Halilhodzic, the new coach of the Atlas Lions, to take part in Morocco’s preparation camp for two friendly matches scheduled for September.
