Spirit AeroSystems’ Acquisition of Bombardier Sites in Morocco and Ireland Faces Uncertainty

Many uncertainties surround the resumption of Bombardier’s sites in Belfast, Ireland, and Nouaceur, Morocco. And for good reason.
The American Spirit AeroSystems, which is to acquire Bombardier’s sites in Belfast, Ireland, and Nouaceur, Morocco, has issued a new communication. Bombardier INC’s shares have fallen to a low level in recent days, reports Vancouver Courrier.
A drop correlated with an announcement from Spirit AeroSystems: "certain closing conditions for its acquisition were still not met, which has introduced a certain degree of uncertainty into the transaction." Yet the sale of Bombardier’s facilities in Belfast and Morocco is necessary in its conversion strategy.
According to Spirit, the agreement will automatically terminate if the conditions are not met by October 31. These conditions are: absence of legal barriers, obtaining third-party consents and no major adverse change in the business, which includes the fuselage and wing factories.
