Spanish Woman Found Dead with Multiple Stab Wounds, Ex-Partner Sought by Police

Last Saturday, a woman was found dead at her home in Parla, Spain. She had been stabbed no less than nine times. The main suspect, her partner, a Moroccan, is actively being sought by the police.

El Mundo writes on this subject: "Juana Ureña Moriano, a 47-year-old cook, was found dead on Saturday evening at her home at number 20 Reyes Católicos Street in Parla. According to the police, she had been dead for three or four days and had received nine stab wounds all over her body".

The same source informs us that the alleged perpetrator of this murder is her partner, a 42-year-old Moroccan citizen. The victim would have filed several complaints against him, for ill-treatment and a restraining order had been issued, to prevent him from approaching her. But they would have started seeing each other again, without informing the authorities. It should be noted that in 2009 a complaint for attempted murder had been filed against him...

According to EFE, the woman was protected by the protocol for attention to victims of violence against women, VioGen (Violencia de Género: gender violence), with a low level of risk.

The disappearance would have been noted by the owner of the hotel establishment in which the victim worked after several absences and no response to calls and messages. He feared the worst. The latter, a certain Juan, explains: "We knew she had been attacked by him and I feared the worst. Last Wednesday, May 1st, she was already missing from work and the same thing happened on Thursday and Friday. I leave her a message on WhatsApp and she doesn’t answer and I end up thinking that something serious must have happened."

The authorities fear that the alleged murderer has already fled to Morocco, his country of origin. The mayor of Parla has decreed 3 days of mourning in the city following this murder of rare violence. El Mundo specifies: "The autopsy revealed nine cuts to the chest, back, arms and thigh. The fatal blow was the one that had been received in the chest and had reached a lung causing a pneumothorax. There were also blows to the face, arms and hands, obvious signs that she had tried to defend herself against her murderer".
