Spanish-Turkish Police Bust International Fake Document Ring, 90 Arrested

The Spanish police, in collaboration with the Turkish police, arrested 90 people, including Moroccans, members of a network of fake document trafficking for the benefit of migrants to facilitate their entry into Spain.
The criminal organization found its clients on social networks in Spain, and after collecting half of the requested amount, produces the fake documents in Istanbul, Turkey and only sends them to the recipient within seven days of payment of the balance. The network receives various amounts depending on the type of documents: 1,000 euros for passports, 750 euros for residence permits, 500 euros for Schengen visas and 350 euros for driver’s licenses, reports La Voz Digital.
The criminal network has made a profit exceeding 1,000,000 euros from this case. The 90 people were arrested in 26 Spanish provinces and are accused of the crime of belonging to a criminal organization, document forgery and crime against the rights of foreign citizens. The accused are of Moroccan, Syrian, Algerian, Egyptian, Libyan, Lebanese, Iraqi, etc. origin.
In total, 71 fake documents from Spain (26), Hungary (10), France (9), Belgium (9), Italy (8), Bulgaria (3), Morocco (2), Germany (1), the Netherlands (1), Switzerland (1) and Algeria (1), as well as 4,300 euros in cash, several electronic devices and various documents were seized.
