Spanish Shipbuilder Navantia to Begin Construction of Moroccan Navy Patrol Boat

Navantia will start on July 3, at its San Fernando site, the construction of the high-altitude patrol boat Avante 1800, ordered by the Royal Moroccan Navy. The announcement was made on Saturday by María Jesús Montero, the Spanish Minister of Finance and Public Function.
The construction of the Moroccan patrol boat will be launched by the "sheet metal cutting" operation which will take place on July 3 at the San Fernando site of Navantia, Montero said to Cadena Ser, stressing the role of the shipbuilder as a "driver of the local industry" in Cádiz. According to some sources, these construction works of the Avante 1800 high-altitude patrol boat will generate "1,100 direct and indirect jobs".
Similarly, the construction of the submarine intervention maritime action ship (BAM-IS), ordered by the Spanish navy, is progressing normally at the Navantia plant in Puerto Real, assures Montero, specifying that this project should also create around "1,100 direct and indirect jobs". The Minister of Finance also praised the "professionalism and international reputation" of Navantia which allow it to have international markets.
