Spanish Police Thwart Moroccan Couple’s Attempt to Flee with Child Wanted by French Authorities

The Spanish police intercepted at the port of Tarifa (Cadiz) a Moroccan couple who were trying to take their two-year-old daughter to Morocco, claimed by the French child protection service.
The parents wanted to cross the border of Tarifa towards Tangier with their daughter, the police said in a statement. After verifying the identity of the three travelers, the agents discovered the existence of a recent child protection order, issued by the Bobigny court due to "suspicions of child abuse and domestic violence against the mother by the father", reports EFE.
The two parents had bought three one-way plane tickets from France, but they had finally decided to make the journey by boat and then by land to avoid being arrested. They had planned to leave the child, since they had only bought two return tickets.
