Spanish Police Seize 6 Tons of Hashish, Arrest 14 in Major Drug Bust

In southern Spain, more precisely in Campo de Gibraltar, the Spanish police seized 6 tons of hashish and arrested 14 people as part of an operation to combat drug trafficking.
"We have arrested 14 people and seized nearly 6 tons of hashish," a senior national police official told El Confidencial. This operation also allowed the police to seize seven stolen cars, used to transport drugs that arrived in Spain via "Narcolanchas", the nickname given to the go-fast boats used by traffickers.
The culmination of this significant seizure of hashish and the arrest of traffickers is, according to the Spanish media, the result of a long investigation and several police operations. An investigation that began "when agents detected the presence of a criminal organization dedicated to the introduction of hashish into Spain".
The police first spotted the traffickers from this network when they brought drugs into Spain through the coastal area of Tubalitas, near Malaga, reports the Iberian press. In addition to the 600 kilos of hashish in a nearby mountain, the police were also able to recover 3,600 kilos of hashish in another hiding place, located near the Algeciras-Estepona toll road.
However, despite all this, as the network continued its activities, it took the final phase of the investigation, which involved five simultaneous searches, to apprehend 14 people.
