Spanish Police Seize Over 5 Tons of Moroccan Hashish During Lockdown

Drug traffickers are not resting. Despite the state of emergency, several tons of Moroccan cannabis have been seized in southern Spain in recent weeks.
58 people arrested, 5,626 kilograms of hashish, 09 boats and 12 vehicles seized. This is the seizure of the Spanish Civil Guard, in the last two weeks. This seizure is the result of 28 operations carried out during the lockdown.
The state of emergency period has contributed to a reduction in criminal activities, although the hashish traffickers from Morocco to the Andalusian coast, by sea, have not thrown in the towel. This is why the Andalusian coasts and the Guadalquivir river have been the subject of tough actions by the Civil Guard against drug traffickers in the last two weeks.
Two occupants of the boat and 12 other people hiding with 114 cans of fuel were arrested on March 30, 2020. It all started with the boarding of a boat suspected of drug trafficking, thanks to the device set up in the vicinity of Isla Cristina, with the collaboration of the local police.
Several Andalusian provinces such as Cádiz have received several police raids in the last two weeks. This has resulted in the seizure of 1,050 kg of hashish and the arrest of two people.
