Spanish Police Seize Nearly 1 Ton of Hashish in Ceuta Drug Bust

On the orders of Court of Instruction No. 2 of Ceuta, the two individuals who were arrested on Friday, August 30, by the Spanish police while transporting 975 kilos of hashish hidden in a ship have been placed in detention.
A greater flow of drugs from the Moroccan coasts to the peninsula has been observed in recent weeks. As reported by El faro de Ceuta, from judicial sources, it appears that an order of imprisonment has been issued against these two individuals who were detained by the Civil Guard. They have now joined the Mendizábal prison, pending the trial that will be held before the Provincial Court.
The two men are accused of a crime against public health since they transported up to 975 kilos of hashish, hidden in the double bottom of a ship that was intercepted by the agents of the armed institute.
The same source emphasizes that at the time of their arrest, the two accused did not show any opposition. They would have escaped from a Moroccan patrol car, preferring to be arrested by agents of the armed institute rather than by Morocco.
Both will remain in detention and are liable to more than 4 years in prison. As for the seized product, it has been transferred to the Health Department under the Government Delegation, for analysis and subsequent destruction.
