Spanish Police Rescue Four Moroccan Fishermen from Sinking Boat off Ceuta Coast

Four Moroccan fishermen were rescued on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, by the Spanish National Police, near Ceuta, after their boat sank due to bad weather conditions. While the two survived, their boat could not be recovered.
The four Moroccan fishermen thus escaped the worst, thanks to the Spanish National Police. Indeed, in the early afternoon of Tuesday, July 30, 2019, reports the site, elfarodeceuta.es, it was following a distress signal sent by a merchant that the "Atria unit" left its base in Tarifa to go to the rescue of the four Moroccan fishermen in Ceuta. The merchant had seen the boat drifting off Punta Almina.
Once at the height of the fishermen, the Atria tried to recover them. However, it could not prevent the sinking of the fishing boat they were occupying, which was in poor condition due to the bad weather conditions.
At the end of this rescue operation, which lasted five hours, the National Police handed over the four fishermen to the Moroccan authorities at the Tarajal border, where they were taken to be taken home, the same source said.
