Spanish Police Bust Moroccan-Spanish Child Trafficking Ring

The Spanish police have apprehended six members of a large Moroccan-Spanish network involved in the trafficking of minors.
An investigation started last year, based on the testimony of a Moroccan woman, has led to the dismantling of this large network, which includes Moroccans and Spaniards. According to the police, the Moroccan woman "discovered three of her minor compatriots in distress in the city of Granada". Exploiting this lead, the Spanish police were able to identify a network that organizes the passage of foreign minors from Morocco.
For this operation, large sums of money are demanded from the parents of the candidates for illegal immigration. From Tangier, the smugglers have the minors cross Spain, where they arrive illegally. Here, other members of the gang recover them. Even those who were spotted and sent to minors’ centers in the province of Cadiz are found and kidnapped by this powerful network.
Explaining the modus operandi of these child traffickers, the Spanish police have shown that after kidnapping the children, the traffickers do not hesitate to hold them hostage and blackmail their parents, demanding large sums of money from them.
The police were able to apprehend six suspects who are now in prisons in various Spanish cities, including Almeria, Cadiz, Línea de la Concepción, and Jerez de la Frontera.
