Spanish Police Bust Moroccan Hashish Ring at Malaga Port, Seize 496 kg

Spanish police officers stationed at the port of Malaga (southern Spain) have dismantled a Moroccan hashish trafficking network. In total, 15 people were arrested and nearly half a ton of hashish was seized.
Their arrest took place as part of the operation codenamed "Filtre", initiated since the beginning of the year, reports the Europa Press agency, citing Spanish police sources who reported the seizure of 496 kilograms of hashish, in addition to three vehicles and a trailer.
Taking advantage of the reopening of the land border with Spain, the traffickers use the maritime line connecting the cities of Melilla and Malaga, through which they try to introduce drugs into the country, it is explained.
To smuggle the drugs, some traffickers conceal the product in very loose clothing or in transport trailers and also in the double floors of vehicles, the same source recalls.
