Spanish Police Bust Major Hashish Smuggling Ring, Seize 2 Tons from Morocco

Twelve individuals were arrested for attempting to smuggle two tons of hashish from Morocco into Punta Umbría (Huelva). An impressive security device made it possible to intercept the entire drug shipment.
A hashish trafficking network was dismantled by national police agents and customs surveillance agents from the tax administration. A total of twelve people were arrested and incarcerated. It was through two shipments that these traffickers tried to introduce 2,100 kilos of drugs through the Huelva coast. They were well-versed in the use of boats and had a good command of the Punta Umbría region through which they wanted to introduce the drugs into Spain. All this quantity of drugs left Morocco, reports Diario de Malaga.
In a press release, the national police indicate that twelve alleged drug traffickers, ten in Huelva and two in Seville, were arrested. The investigations that led to these arrests began in November 2019.
Subsequently, four simultaneous searches were carried out in Seville on March 16, at the addresses of the main leaders of the criminal organization and in the town of Punta Umbría. The harvest was good. The police seized the two boats used to introduce the drugs, a cargo van, several mobile phones and satellite phones.
