Spanish Police Bust International Ring Smuggling ’Pink Cocaine’ to Morocco

The Spanish police have managed to dismantle an international drug trafficking network that was supplying the Moroccan market with pink cocaine, a new party drug stronger than regular cocaine. Several traffickers were arrested as part of this operation.
Manufactured in clandestine laboratories in the Madrid region, the pink cocaine is transported to the traffickers’ branches in Ceuta and Melilla, who then take over to transport it by jet skis to the Moroccan coasts. The drug is then delivered to young Moroccans from wealthy families in Tangier, Nador and Casablanca, reports the Arabic-language daily Assabah.
The choice of the Moroccan market for the sale of the goods is explained by the fact that Morocco lacks this substance due to the tightening of controls, the dismantling of drug trafficking networks in the kingdom and in Europe, and the closure of borders due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Spanish police have arrested several members of this network. Among them, a trafficker of Colombian nationality.
